Welcome – Welcome to the web site of the Kiwanis Club of Matthews!  We hope that you find this site useful and that you are inspired to join us in serving our community.

Kiwanis is “… a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.”  The Kiwanis family of service clubs spans the globe in nearly 100 nations. There are Kiwanis Clubs throughout our region and we all share a mission and desire to serve the children, youth and families of our communities.

Join us–We hope that you can see that our members are truly interested in serving the needs of our community. Please consider joining us (as our guest) at one of our lunch meetings to find out more about who we are and what we do. We are certain that you will not be disappointed.

When &  Where –We meet each Thursday at noon at Jonathan’s restaurant. It is located at 10630 Independence Pointe Parkway (beside the Target Store here in Matthews.)

Projects Near and Dear to our Hearts–  Here is a brief description of just a few of the projects the members of the Kiwanis Club of Matthews provide to our community:

•  Through our School Clothes for Kids project, we take at least 100 children shopping for new school clothes to begin the school year with pride and confidence; we also partner with the Matthews HELP Center to provide these children and youth with book bags and school supplies;

• We sponsor Terrific Kids recognition programs monthly at five different elementary schools;

• We sponsor Key Clubs (service clubs) at Butler and Providence High Schools; 

• We partner with the Kiwanis Clubs of Ballantyne and Mint Hill to sponsor the Aktion Club of South Mecklenburg – a service clubs of youth and adults with special needs.
